Postpartum doula support

We had an amazing experience with Steph De Sousa as our postpartum doula. I was excited for every one of her visits because I knew she would provide us with great relief, support, kindness, and knowledge. Any time I had an issue I wanted to troubleshoot, Steph was a great resource to go to (prenatal, at the time of birth, and post partum). She offered to come by our home before our delivery because we had questions about some of the products we had acquired. She showed us how to swaddle, baby carry etc. and gave us some tips on setting up our environment for baby. It's a testament to her caring nature that while we were still in hospital post delivery, she happened to be there at the same time, and let us know that she would pop by to check in on us when she had some downtime. This made us feel incredibly supported from the start. She was flexible with her schedule and made things as easy as possible for us. She was always making sure I had the supports I needed, offered wonderful breastfeeding guidance, was a wizard at elongating our baby's naps, and helped us tremendously when she took the initiative to fold laundry / meal prep, etc. We relied on Steph a lot because we were packing up our home when our baby was 6-8 weeks old to prepare for a move. Most importantly, our baby loved her and was always wanting to show off his skills or laugh with her.

Birth doula support

Stephanie De Sousa is more than a doula. She’s a naturally nurturing bright spark who thrives on supporting and championing women into becoming mothers. She was my doula for a 30-hour induced labour in 2019. Somehow, despite the length, it was a very calm and personal experience — Steph was totally present, but also sort of invisible. We were so lucky to have her with us, sleeping in the chair beside me so my husband could go home and shower, keeping my spirits up with talk, tisanes and scents, and bringing us food when we needed it. But more than that, she shared the experience, she made me feel stronger, more empowered and more capable than I would have let myself believe. She held my hand, held my legs, squeezed my back… somehow even afterwards she knows intuitively when I need a little cheerleading and will reach out with a motivating message. And in the birth of my second daughter last month, my husband and I found ourselves referring back to what we learned from her the first time around: She was the perfect coach and taught us how to work together during birth. For that reason, I will always think of her as an integral part of the team that brought both my daughters here safely — always smiling and radiating light and love in an almost ethereal way.

Birth doula support

My husband Dimitri and I were truly amazed by the support we had from Steph De Sousa. From the moment I met her I felt a genuine connection with her - she was like a fairy spreading love and positive vibes 🙂 Steph is very smart and intuitive and can adapt to the path that makes you feel good. I never felt judged and she really helped me navigate through my options without pressure. I sincerely think she is the reason why I avoided a C-section and I am grateful. Can't wait to do this again if I have a second child... lol we forget the pain fast! BTW she is an amazing cook 🙂

Postpartum support for twins

I was recommended Stephanie De Sousa from a friend following the birth of my twins. Stephanie is simply wonderful having around. A sunshine in your home. She has a wonderful bubbly personality, she is so caring, helpful, attentive to every need. A true gem! We also had her for overnight support and she was able to handle the twins on her own! We were impressed! My twins are 4 months and we still have periodic visits from Stephanie because we enjoy the help and support she provides during her visits. I strongly recommend her!
