The Vivre-ensemble committee presents Une place pour toutes les familles, a workshop given by the LGBT+ Family Coalition, as part of our Sexual and gender discrimination day, what we carry within. The Coalition will adapt its training to the doulas’ reality. It’s a great opportunity to give yourself some tools to better understand the different realities of LGBT+ families and work towards a more inclusive practice.

“LGBT+ families are sometimes absent from social representations of the family and the overall image of family diversity in Québec. Exclusion and silence are amongst the biggest barriers encountered by LGBT+ families. Because these families are often made invisible, practices are not always adapted to respond to their needs, which could have a significant impact on their well-being and most of all on their children.” (From the LGBT+ Family Coalition’s website.
